If you mean excitement followed by disappointment, then yeah maybe.
If you mean the cameras are similar, heck no. One has a huge APS-C sensor, the other has a tiny 1/1.6" sensor. One is an F4 prime, the other is a 2.0-2.8 zoom. One is very slow, the other is probably just as quick as other digital P&S (but still slow compared to a film camera).
I'm hoping the image quality will be less like that first sample and more like that third one. I also hope it will cost well below $500.
If the DP-1 had the same lens spec as this thing, I'd be all over it.
This camera may end up being another "near miss," but I'll take comfort in the fact that shots are being taken in the right direction.
