Something cheap and fast in 50mm for leica LTM?

My current favorite on the III is a collapsible summicron. If you don't get one in collectors condition, they aren't too expensive. I like collapsibles on my III since they (summicron and summar) are also light weight.

For another piece of stupidity on my part ... I had a (slightly rough) collapsable Summicron in LTM and gave it away! 😱

The black f1.8 on eBay interests me ... he's asking close to $200.00 and I'm thinking maybe an offer of $150.00? He can anly say no I guess!

$150 for the Canon 50/1.8 is a good price for one with excellent glass.

It was a long time ago and I had no concept that it was actually a decent lens ... I just thought it was the dirty ugly piece of crap that came on the screwmount I'd just bought off eBay.

I will never sell my Canon 50/1.4. If and when I get Barnack, however, I'll put something smaller and lighter on it. A big lens light that seems to defeat the purpose of using a tiny body. The J8 is very nice. My Summaron 35/3.5 won't take up much room and if I were going to get a 50, I'd try a cheap, user Elmar. Curious, Keith about what you finally decide. If I find myself not broke in the near future, this is something I've been musing about doing, too.

You can't be serious ... have you seen what a poor little Leica II looks like attached to a Canon 50mm f1.2?

It's not a pretty sight ... and the viewfinder becomes completely useless! 😀

The chrome Canon 50/1.8 and the Nokton 50/1.5 can be great options for fast 50s, having a more classic look or a more modern look.
