I was sorting through my computer table, and found a bunch of 6x6 negatives I took about 2 years ago. I was using gone over Kievs, which I have sold to finance this rangefinder passion. Boy are they sharp! That East German glass is superb. It seems with time that I've forgotten how really cumbersome that mf stuff was, but I still miss the 50, 80, 120 and 180 Sonnars. Oh well.

I'm hooked on MF. I have a Mamiya 645 and a Bronica RF645. The tonality is so much better than 35mm. But even so, I am longing for a 4x5 field camera.

My Contax IIIa is getting lonely. I only take it out to exercise the shutter. I guess I'll need to find it a good home.

Well, I really shoot very little MF these days. Mostly it's either miniture or 4x5 and the MF just falls through the cracks.

MF RF? 🙄

I hear you Stu. I was just looking through some old negs...shot with a Yashica Mat 124 and a sweet Rolleiflex 3.5 F. Sold them both - regret it now.

Don't get me wrong, I love using my RF stuff. But those 2 1/4 negs. Oooo so nice! I'm going to try to pick up a clean Yashicamat in the near future. The 12 exposure rolls tend to slow me down and make every shot count.

Won't be giving up my M6 any time soon though!

Get an Iskra (6x6) rangefinder and you can still play here too! 🙂

Or a coupled lens on a Speed Graphic... Nothing in this world quite like a handheld 4x5 RF 😀

Sold my Hassy 2 years ago, 500c, 50, 80 and 150 lenses... bought an M6ttl with 21, 35, 50 and 90 lenses, never looked back, never regretted it.

Impecable timing, Buttons. Now you can buy that gear back at a fraction of what you sold for. What stocks do you suggest? 🙂

I could never make it without my MF's. 🙂

8x10 or digital SLR's are fun to work with and give great results, but when I look at my best shots, the vast majority is made with MF (6x6, 24x65, 6x9)

This is why I own a GL690. The only things bigger are Speed Graphics, which are not really the same thing IMHO. Yeah, yeah, eight shots to a roll, but eight technically superb shots--it's my job to live up to the camera.

Downside is repairing it; I have to get the shutter on my 65 checked out.

For the last three years I have used Canon digitals almost exclusively. I recently bought a couple of new Leica lenses (the APO 75 and 50 ASPH) and started using some black and white film again (mostly Efke 25), and that made me miss medium format. The Leica reminded me of the old Rollei TLR I sold so long ago, and I bought another one. I did two Christmas card covers, one with the Mamiya 6, and the other with the Rollei TLR, and using them has been really enjoyable after all the digital stuff these past years.

MF is really nice, but I don´t miss the dust you always gets on the negative while trying to make a nice copy ...., been working as a photographers assistant as well, and MF Velvia shots with nice highlights AND dust in them 🙁.

Yes i miss the rolleiflex, the big negatives and all the other good stuff, but nope, not the dust.
And it´s nothing worse than sitting behind a frontier lab making the same bl**du copy for the 3rd time 00:30 on a Tuesday, because you saw the print on the packing desk with with spots.
01:15 you give up, make a quick scan, uses the stamp tool for 5 min and make a note to the guy who has the morning shift: remember the print on the PC. If your lucky 7-11 still have donuts with chocolate covering. 😀
