Somewhere in the world, it's Red Oktober!

Love that pic too Larry! I was looking at Iskras before I bought my Mockba but just didnt want to spend that kind of money at the time. Now looking at your results it seems I should just do it (eventually!)

Thanks, again, Huss. Apparently they can have issues, but this one has proven to be a nice camera.

Scientists suggest a lot of "dark matter" in the universe, some of which maybe got on your negs... ?? I see something on your powerlines shot above, a sort of mistyness against the dark ridges... Dust devils or dark matter or ? :)

Hi Doug,

It’s an artifact of the uneven development referenced above from my absent minded failure to add enough developer to cover the film. However, I am pretending that the photo uses advanced tech to make visible the evil electromagnetic forces surrounding power lines that some people are forever going on about. Seeing it as dust devils, dark matter, and strange mist also work as ways to semi-salvage the photo.

Those were taken in Boiling Springs, PA, about half an hour south of Harrisburg.

Just a camera and audio hobbyist :)

Thanks for the kind words!

In the Spirit of Red Oktober

It is old and beat. The shutter speeds are a little wonky. One of the latches on the back is out of whack. But the old 1964 K4a is still working. So here goes nothing.

Kiev 4a - Helios 103 - Expired TMX100 - Zeiss Reloadable Cassette - Dunked in FX-37 for 10.5m with occasional agitation every minute or so. And yet somehow, it all works.

Well, the film advance finally died on the old 64 Kiev so it is now time to dust off the 72. The shutter speeds on this one are even more goofy than the 64 but the mid speeds are pretty close. At least the film advance works properly...so far.

However, I have several rolls from the 64 to work with.

Finished my annual Red Oktober roll of film yesterday, in my favorite Soviet camera, my 1957 Zorki 4.
Here's the first frame. More to come...

Just got some rolls back.

Mockba 5 aka White Russian, Fuji NPS160, handheld @ 1/10sec f 3.5

While this is natively a 6x9 kamera, I shoot it with the 6x6 mask installed cuz I have 2 other 6x9 kameras, I like the square format, and I like to get 12 exposures per roll...
