Sony 4d af

Maybe it's a first for a mirrorless camera, but it all sounds a lot like Nikon's Autofocus tracking with Lock-On, which was already there on the more advanced AF film bodies (e.g. the F100)..

I found a YouTube video showing the af continuos on the a6000 vs I think a Nikon dslr. It was from digitalRev.. Silky video..but did demonstrate how the new af worked. Still not as good as a dslr.. But it appears to be really good.

Impressive indeed, especially since the DSLR they compared it to was a top-end one (if I recall correctly a D4 or something similar)..

Thanks for the post of the other video... His ranking of af speed is interesting
- Panasonic gh4
- Sony a6000
- Olympus em1
- Fuji xt1

He shot in both single and continuous af for the test and used a Nikon d4s as a reference.. In continuos af, the Olympus was actually the best, but overall he gave the nod to the Panasonic gh4.

I agree, the camerastore video does a better job of evaluating the af performance. The digitalRev video gave more insight on what was happening in the viewfinder though.
