Sony a7/a7r with Zeiss SLR, Leica R, Zuiko, and other SLR lenses

That's with the A7 (I accidentally posted this in the A7r thread) - and it's with the Voigtlander 12mm LTM. I didn't see any colour shift issues and if you can live with the vignetting (which occurs on film too) then it shouldn't be that much of an issue. I haven't shot with the 35 cron but have with the 35 lux pre-asph - it's the same on this camera as it is on the M9 as far as i'm concerned. The 15mm Voigtlander should react relatively the same as this 12mm in my opinion.

At f/2 it seems to have a "luxy" quality reminds me of the 50 lux asph shots I love to look at. 🙂

A bit of internet sleuthing and Presto:
My lens is the Canon 35mm f/2.0 S.S.C. FLE with concave front element and green 35mm designation on the aperture ring. Version V in the history of the FD mount lenses. The same vintage as my other FD lenses: 35/3.5, 50/1.4 and 50/3.5 Macro and the New FD 24/2.8 FLE.
According to samples of the Leica lenses presented here, I am set for 50mm, 85mm and 90mm as well.
This is very dangerous. Very dangerous indeed. 😉

Absolutely Wayne. Even with 50s the RFs really don't cut it - except the Noctilux which has so much field curvature and falloff that the edges can be sacrificed. The edges and corners are much, much better with the SLR lenses.

A couple more with the OM 24. Considering how cheap these are, they seem to be a reasonable choice for the A7r.

I'm using the "Fotodiox Pro Lens Mount Adapter Leica M Lens to Sony Alpha NEX" along with my Sony A7.

Very solid and fits perfectly with my Voigtlander lenses.

Here are some samples... Most of them were shot under low-light situation...

1) Voigtlander 50mm f/1.5 (shot wide-open)

3) Extra shots with native Sony Zeiss 35mm f/2.8

I haven't tried the A7, Wayne, but before I would count on it to perform acceptably with RF lenses, I would look for some hard evidence. I'm leaning toward the report of the A7 being hugely better with RF lenses than the A7r likely being an internet myth. There are a lot of complaints about RF lenses on it as well. Check out FM.com and L-cameraforum...

Again though, I haven't used the A7 - and everyone's tolerance for poor edges is different.

A7r is really for native glass only if you are really picky. A few exceptions. It has lots of problems with SLR glass on the edges at wide apertures too.

A7 is much better, but not like M9 with RF 35 and wider.

However plain A7 is superb with SLR.

I've been shooting lots of frames a day with a bunch of SLR stuff, and I like it 🙂

No regrets at having sent the R back.

To day I shot a bunch of skiing with the OM 200/5 and results are pretty...well they exceed my expectations.
