Hi all.

I just received a close up adapter SOOKY for summicron on ltm cameras.
I am quite exited by the gizmo, as it allows close up to .5m on a small combo and a very good lens.😎

Now, the grease has frozen and it needs a relube.

Does someone know how to open the helicals?

My guess is that the NOOKY and NOOKY-HESUM may be built the same, so if you know how to do it on these adapters, please share it with us.

Thanks!!

I have the NOOKY. I haven't opened mine, but looking at it just now, maybe the three very small screws along the ridged circumfrence do something?

Hmm,

I have one that is not a Nooky or Nooky-hesum, could be a Sooky. If it's the same as yours, remove the stop screw and you can undo the helical.
You may need to drill out the back of the thread, as some are clenched into a small countersink to stop them falling out.

Thanks for the answers!

Do you mean the three really tiny black screws I see from the back of the thing (the head pointing into the camera) ?

John, could your adpter be a SOOKY-M or SOMKY, that allows close ups with a collapsible cron on an M camera?
I'm asking because indeed that's the way to dismantle these, and on my SOOKY there is no stopping screw that could sop the focusing ring to separate from the rest of it. It stops on it's own before touching any.
