Next week l pick up, from a friend who owns a camera clinic and store, a Canon 50mm 1.4, 'Japanese Summilux', in lovely condition, l plan to use it on my Leica M2, which also lands next week
Anyone else use or used this combo, or just used the lens

Think Different
The Canon LTM 50/1.4 is probably my favorite non-Leica 50mm lens. Here’s a pic taken with the lens on a Leica M240. Wide-open.

The best camera is one that still works!
I had one but sold it. Nice lens but with a very long focus throw.

I had one, on a M2. But I sold it: it was a bit too protruding in the viewfinder.
On a M240, it's different.

I've just got one for my M3 and I can barely see it at all...I guess that's the beauty of having a finder designed for 50mm lenses?

I just cleaned my 1,8 which I find to be one of the nicest lens' for my film M. I have never owned the 1,4 but would like to try one out at some point.

To Light & Love ...
Enjoy it !
It's a Lovely lens... beautifully classic 'look', a delcate sharpness with creamy oof
it's only drawback ... slightly big but Not overbearing by any means
silly me sold mine but in reality i should have kept it for it's sheer low light capability and inexpensive cost for a 1.4

Desperate but not serious
My first fifty for a rangefinder was the Canon 50mm f1.4, I liked it quite a bit, but found the 1 meter minimum focus kind of hampering and ended up replacing it with the Nikkor-sc 50mm f1.4, which was one of the best 50's I've ever owned and with some modification would focus down to 0.7 meters to boot.
I had one but sold it. Nice lens but with a very long focus throw.
