I have Leica caps for my Leica lenses. My Nikkor LTMs have their caps, but none of the caps on all the lenses will stay put. I did find some plastic 42mm push on caps for my DR cron and it stays on nicely. You'd think someone would produce some plastic A36 push on caps.
There is a black rubber one that is sometimes made in India, a copy of the original bakelite one. I can't find any listings at the moment, but you could contact the ebay seller real.camera - they usually have a few in stock. I bought two a while ago, and use them whenever I take my Elmar or Summaron out.
Try the plastic screw cap to a milk carton. That and a little self adhesive felt should do the trick for a working camera. Cut a notch in it for the lever.
Red ones are best as it's hard to forget to take the lens cap off.
If you can find one, "Balda" cameras had nice looking ones in black plastic but with a tab at the side for a bit of string and so they could be tied to the camera.
Of course you can get the genuine article but they cost serious money and getting the right vintage for the camera can be tricky. There's lots of people selling on ebay who will be happy taking your money.
