I got a used Focomat v35, it has the negative carrier for slides. Must I get a carrier for film? or will this work with sliding the film thru empty slide mounts? It would seem worthwhile to get the carrier with glass.

On the German version of the famous auction site appear many Focomat units and accessories. The going prices are comperatively less than those in the States. Also check the APUG classifieds... As for the double-glass carriers for the 35mm format, keep an antistatic cloth or brush by your side as you will have six surfaces to take care of. For the 120 format glass carriers could be a must but with the larger magnifications required for the 35mm format, dust becomes a pest to deal with. If you are to print a few rolls a week, then you may prefer the glassless ones by stopping down.

And Agfa enlargers and their own excellent darkroom and related products: enlargers, easels, copy-stands. I was going to jump in with them if no-one else had. They're REALLY nice people, too.

This is a great thread! I've been hunting a V35 carrier for awhile now so I can file one and have a normal one too. Thanks for sharing!
