source for s3 finder front glass -- s3 2000

i have an older s3 where the front glass is somewhat marked ;
looking for source for the front glass for main viewfinder and smaller prism window . these sit under the front cover in small black frames .
anyone in japan able to obtain these parts from s3 2000 stock .

[Highway 61]

Custom cut glass blades for microscopes will do it perfectly. Those are protective neutral glasses and so, no need to get some original Nikon parts (which you won't find out easily anyway) IMO.

So, get in touch with a local glasses shop.

It's easy enough to cut a piece of glass to size for the S3 as suggested by Highway 61, but Kiitos Camera Repair might have the part you're after. I'll drop by and ask next week.

thanks jon , i have used the microscope glass in the past as highway 61 says - it works . this s3 is a nice one and i would like to use the s3 2000 glass as it is probably coated like the late type s3 front glass . al

al, i checked but kiitos did not have any. sorry i couldn't help.

thanks jon for your kindness , its not that the finder is that bad -- the coated front glass does show many mars in the coating . now i can just use it as is .
