Hello all, I'm going to be replacing the shutter curtains and ribbons for a couple of FED-2s... So far I've found nobbysparrow, Japan hobby tool on amazon (but alas, no ribbons), and aki asahi. Does anyone have any other options/recommendations? I was hoping for something domestic to the States for both.

Thanks in advance!

I bought a sheet of the rubberized silk curtain material from nobbysparrow and it works great in the Zorki and Leicas I've used it in. Never needed ribbons myself, as I was able to use what came with the cameras. However, the 1930 Ia I'm working on could probably benefit from fresh ribbons.

If you find a domestic source please let us know.

Thanks for that, do you usually sew them together, or do you use contact cement? If you use contact cement, do you have a recommendation in particular?

Pliobond is the glue. Nobbysparow is trusted source on ebay for curtains and ribbons. He also has video for how to replace.

I glue and sew, like they were done originally. Gluing first makes the sewing easier. I've not tried Pliobond, but I know others use it with good results. I've used DAP's "Weldwood" contact cement and found that it works well. Looks like it's similar to Pliobond, so I think you could do fine with either one.
