Browsing through archive.org I came across hundreds of issues of the Soviet Photo Magazine. There are some pretty amazing pictures in there. For those interested check here

Thanks! Didn't know one could browse through them on the net! I have a few original paper issues that I absolutely love. Not only are they full of excellent photography, but they are also printed on a very fine matte paper (a bonus for those who appreciate the tactile side of photography).

Thanks Pan for the link, interesting. Worthwhile to browse.
Andrea, it is such a pleasure to have in the hands a book printed on a "special" fine paper, both for the eyes and for our hands !

Thanks, I really like the graphical style of those earliest issues from the 1920s.

Yes, I agree, although the issues from the 60's and 70's seem to have the sort of picture I like most.

WOW, thanks Pan, I always love your posts. This is very special. This didn't look at all different from what I was doing in 1959 in Oregon, USA:

I wasn't alive for the 70's, but I really resonate with a lot of 70's photography.

I am familiar with the link and like its contents. This said many of my artistic friends in the former USSR and satellite states were less enthusiastic. They felt force-fed on its contents without having access to any other sources.
