SP 2005 Unveiling

Bob, I thought the Sumo wrestler looked a bit like Andy Kaufman! :D
Nice camera. Is that a 50/2 or a 35/2 lens?

It is a 35mm f1.8 lens. This revised version of it features a black outer ring, which only a few of the original 35mm f1.8 lenses had, so we who also collect dig that feature. They reproduced the shade perfectly, too.

All here who use this lens rave about uit, so I am looking forward to using it. But not quite yet...

Jonmamjiro can help find a SP 2005? I sure would like one as well.

I got my S3-2000 from him. Smoooooothest transaction ever. I would HIGHLY recommend him. Drop him a note, I bet he can find you something over there.

Bob,

BTW, Thanks for sharing your special moment. She is drop dead gorgeous. Now you need to have a custom (black) AR-1 on her! You shots do cause a bit of GAS pain, very well done......

What an assault on the senses that is ... what can I say?

I want one! :p

Absolutely Gorgeous. I'm jealous! I'm new to the forum, but have fallen in love with Nikon RF's. I have 1 Nikon SP w/ titanium shutter & 5.0cm 1.4 lens in pretty good shape.

I look forward to posting more on the forum

I got an S3-2000 from Jon, which is now being enjoyed by another RFFer, and then received an SP 2005 from Jon a few weeks ago. As Bill says, highly recommended.

To paraphrase Zoolander, the only problem with the SP 2005 is that it is really, really, ridiculously good looking. So I end up using my old beater SP more. :)

Welcome. Starting with an SP is pretty special; in many ways you could stop now. But if you get Bob Rotoloni's new book on Nikon rangefinder, you will not stop...and why should you? Enjoy!

Yes, Jon is the man and this camera kit came from him. Look at that packing-the best!

I am going through the too-pretty to use phase right now and I honestly do not care if it lasts awhile.

Nice Bob! I think we may need to have the next Bay Area meet up in your neck of the woods. Yeah, I think so...... :)

Yeah Mike, c'mon out here. Bingley and i want to meet the Bay Area RFF posse. We do beer'n'gear meetings a lot and a lot of shooting as well. You are always welcome so let's make it happen.

Thanks Bill, glad you like it. It is fun for me to share the fun, especially when the item is something a lot of us admire and want. I sometimes think "I am not worthy" but here it is and I am proud to have it.

Let's take off more than the lens ...

Here's the inside.
