Hi there, I recently purchased a used 24mm Elmarit-R for use with my A7 and my R6.2. It's focus is quite a bit off at infinity and it seems likely that the lens mount was exchanged at one time for maybe a canon mount and then replaced but they left out some spacers or shims under the mount. That would explain the fairly large difference (when focused at inf. the lens says 25'). Has anyone been under the lens mount of one of these lenses and are there shims or spacers under them? Any idea what size they are or would they be customized for the lens?
I plan on sending it to a technician for collimation but would like to know how extensive the service and cost might be so I can ask the seller for an adjustment. Thanks, Bob in Mich.

I haven't opened a 24, but have Leitaxed a 35/2.8, 60/2.8 and 90/2.8. The only shims I came across were underneath the cams. I'd simply phone Don Goldman (or one of the other Leica repair gurus) and ask him.

My experience is w/ the R 90 lenses, but there are no shims under their mounts. Only, as Shac mentioned, under the cams. I do have an R 90 Elmarit that someone pulled the rear element out to remove fungus, and they forgot to replace the shims under the rear element. Mine would hit infinity about the same place yours does. Through trial and error I was able to properly shim the element using thin washers from Ace Hardware. Works great now. This may possibly be your problem. I ended up fixing this one myself when I got quotes from people on repairing it. Could have bought another lens or two for the prices they wanted. Anything with Leica or Leitz written on it, repair prices rocket.
