EVF is separate purchase, correct? Any idea of its cost and specs? Thanks.
EVF built in.

the pic shows the evf built in like the nex7, very nice camera w/ manual shutter speed dial and apparently manual aperture ring on lens.

this is really the 1st of the fujis that interests me seriously. If there is good RAW support and an M adapter....

The best camera is one that still works!
What ... no full frame?
I'll pass!

It's full frame with native lenses of course.
And if it's the same Xpro1 sensor then RAW support is already here.

Nice. Below 1000 and better af performance.
I wonder if they are going to do a kit price like e1 w/ either the 35f1.4 or that new zoom....

And without the viewfinder etc it's about as stylish as a bar of soap!
I just hope that they give it some real feedback for manual focusing.

I don't think raw for e1 will be there day one. It seems most raw support reads the camera model number and if not on list for that raw format it does not support it, but this is a simple patch to SW that already supports the xp1.
Still waiting Apple !!!!!

keith: it has a viewfinder, unlike your average bar of soap ...

Sorry ... I meant the window thingy on the front of the camera!
The price seems pretty reasonable and I wonder how good the EVF is?

Keith,
Have you seen the images out of the X-Pro1?
If not, be careful - they can win you over pretty quickly.
Full frame is just not necessary anymore.

I have seen some great images from the Xpro and I agree that full frame is not the be all and end all of digital imaging.
It would be nice if they can come up with a more responsive manual focusing system ... the X100 drove me insane in this area and I gather the Xpro is much the same?
The OM-D has very good manual focusing but IMO the camera is hampered somewhat by the small sensor.

what puzzles me is why would fuji not follow up to the successful hybrid optical VF like the x100 & xpro?- i would not buy the X-E1 versus the OMD as it is with out the OVF. I am also curious if they are planning a X200? Price strategy of the fuji line would/could be X-E1 for about $999. body only, an x200 for about $1200 (maybe with a fixed 50mm-that makes me order it now) and the X-pro at the present price of $1699. And include a rope for the X-E1 Soap (to make Keith happy!)....

Are you talking about the X-Pro2?

Typical bean-counter strategy. Rather than make something good and then release an upgraded version for more, just handicap it and sell it for less. Voila, no wasted resources on more R&D...
It's such a shame the marketing departments are running camera manufacturers these days.

Design a viewfinder window to your taste. Print it on contact paper and stick it to wherever it makes the most cosmetic impact. I would. And without the viewfinder etc it's about as stylish as a bar of soap!
