Hi everyone.

I'll be going to Sri Lanka for about 4 to 5 days with my company whereby we'll visit an orphanage and donate some essentials as well as keep the children occupied for about a day.

I intend to take some pictures there and hopefully when I come back, I'll be able to sell some prints where all proceeds go back to the orphanage.

I usually send my b&w film to my friend to develop. He uses HC101-b (I think that's the correct name) to develop and I'm wondering what sort of film would be best suited for it? I'm guessing there would be times where I'll be shooting indoors and out.

Thanks for taking the time to read and please don't hesitate to give your advice! :)

Sorry. We're a bit sleepy!
I spent a lot of time in rural India over recent years and I generally used a Bessa R3A or a Leica IIIf with a CV II meter. The Leica was a nostalgia kick and the Bessa was the more useful camera, especially with aperture priority for grab shots.
I used a mix of 100 ISO and 400 ISO. I think generally the 400 was the more versatile as I did not have to depend on very fast lenses in interior or less well lit areas. The 100 ISO was fine out of doors in daylight but I ran out of speed in other circumstances. Another thing to remember is that you can easily push or pull 400 ISO by one stop to 200 or 800 if necessary without degrading the image too much, as long as the appropriate development is used.

Thanks for the reply Leigh Youdale. :)

I'm using a Bessa R primarily and probably borrowing a friend's GR1s. As what I suspected, I guess I should be bringing more 400 films with me then. I was just wondering if there was a need to bring any 800 films with me just in case. I think I just might. Haha.
