i would love to start a thread and just state that i love the rd1.
not full frame
a measly 6 mp
not the most robust camera ever made
1.53 crop factor
poor battery life
makes great images
i love the black & white that i get out of it
yeah, i'd love to start a thread and say that i am in complete nirvana with this camera but i would hate to see the bloody arguments that it would start...
oh well, back to the oly digi-pen thread...

Seems like a very cool camera to me, especially now that cameraleather.com has covers for it. I like that little analog dial on it. What is that for, battery life?

... likes film again.
Red Sox
...
.... BW from the R-D1(s) are really good, liked mine for that.

Well, I'm going to hot things up by stating that the RD1 has no crop factor.
I know, I know you technocrats are right that in comparison to a 35mm film negative there is a crop. Like back alley joe said, the RD1 is a mighty fine picture taking machine.
And since the Red Sox have a minor league team here I'll go with them over the yankees.

I am so used to micro 4/3 that 1.5x feels like large format.

Judge not by the size of your sensor, it's how you use it that counts.
Long in the tooth in a digital/disposable world, and suffering from the flaws of being the first of its kind, the RD-1 is none-the-less a very fun camera to use and craft images with. The quality of the images is still very fine and have charismatic quality.
cheers

The RD-1 is nice, but it doesn't have one of those really cool EVFs. And no 20x zoom lens!
Maybe someone will make a film back for it some day?

Oh sorry, wrong thread. The RD-1 is a fine camera. I've seen what it's capable of, and would buy one over an M8 any day.
