start a thread - start a fight

i would love to start a thread and just state that i love the rd1.

not full frame

a measly 6 mp

not the most robust camera ever made

1.53 crop factor

poor battery life

makes great images

i love the black & white that i get out of it

yeah, i'd love to start a thread and say that i am in complete nirvana with this camera but i would hate to see the bloody arguments that it would start...

oh well, back to the oly digi-pen thread...

I like mine too (RD1S), and agree with you points, but one - battery life on mine if fine. Maybe you need some new/better batteries?

It could be worst.

We could be talking Red Sox vs Yankees.

Or Dodgers, Angels, or Lakers. Sorry, just not impressed with someone's abilty to do acrobatics with a ball. Id prefer the Chinese circus....cure cancer or initiate health care reform, now that would impress me.

Thank you.

I miss my R-D1. Yes the pictures it took were like signatures, unique. But the I miss all the cameras I have sold. Did I say go Red Sox? No.....ok GO RED SOX!!!!

I can't see how the RD-1 can possibly work; it has an optical VF and interchangeable lenses....

:D

... because RD1 is the very most analog of all digital cameras.

Totally true. It feels and works like a manual film camera. I can't remember the last time I flipped the lcd screen around to chimp, I feel totally at home with it. I love it to death. Complaints? Some batteries seem to have much more life than others, but that's about it.

My battery life is quite good. I think I would want an M8 or M8.2, but would still keep the R-D1 (s). Fortunately for me, I'm too poor for the Leica so the M6 will have to suffice.

Go Brewers!

That's funny- maybe the three (coincidence?) that I have are easier for me to focus that the Bessa R2. The 1x finder is nice.

I may pick up an RD-1 if one pops up at a good price. I'll have to post a "mortality" thread. My 1992 and 1997 DSLRS's are still working. Even the SCSI hard drive in the DCS200 is functioning correctly. I have a spare to replace it with.

i never had a problem focussing my p's but after i started to use the m3 and then the zi, i realized that the round patch was harder for me to focus than a sq/rec patch. it seems less precise.
