Stewart,
The name of that book is "A Gun for Sale." It's by Graham Greene, along with all of the books in the shot. I like Greene's works very much. Thanks for noticing and asking.

Before digital, before in-body stabilization, before in-lens stabilization, never ever ever shoot slower than the reciprocal of the lens focal length. 50mm on a M4/3's equals 100mm, so shoot at 1/100 sec. or faster. 18mm equals 36mm so shoot at 1/36 or faster.
Slower than that, use a tripod.Simple! Problem solved. BTW, never, ever ever shoot using the LCD held out away from the body. It is an unstable shooting platform to begin with.
LCD shooting is meant for family snap shooting or tripod. Use you EVF finder like I do.
It's a crummy finder, but you should use it only for framing your subject anyway.
I'm a satisfied GF1 user, BTW.

Russell,
I also had (note the past tense) a GF1 and I had the (woeful) EVF which was, at least, better than trying to use the LCD. Sold it for half what I paid.
You will note I no longer have a GF1. I bought a Fuji X10 for my digital work and set it on EXR (auto everything) and am well pleased with it. I came to the conclusion that trying to use M-mount lenses on the GF1 was a recipe for frustration. I continue to use them on my M6 and R4A.

the olly evf is very very good and makes using m/m39 lenses on digital much less frustrating. my favorite digital combo is my olly ep2 and summicron-c 40/2, results in good light are stunning. ive tried unsuccessfully several times to post results on this forum, but am obviously too stupid to figure out how to do it properly...
