I have several 49mm filters from my SLR days and want to use them on my RF lenses which vary from 39mm to 52mm. The cheapest option is to buy step rings. This should be no problem except for the lens with a 52mm filter thread (Nokton 50/1.5).
For a even a small step down, I would image that a step down ring from 49mm to 52mm would still cause vignetting at wide aperatures, but not when stopped down. Is this assumption correct?
