Stiffer focusing in cold weather

I've noticed that the focusing on the 35mm Summicron is a little stiffer than I remember.

Could it be due to the cold weather, which here is below freezing? Is this a normal thing or could it be something else? Last CLA was 2 years ago.

I'd say so, I had two M6's freeze up during winter when I was out shooting. A little time inside a coffee shop and it free'd right up.

The lens was equally as cold and unable to move as well.. wasn't really that cold? ~20ºF
