been reading a bit more about this lens but wondering how those who already own it are thinking about it?
not sure it's for me...a bit wide...their 14mm might be a different story for me though...no real need for an af lens with it being so wide.
if you are up for it maybe post a pic or 2...
thanks!
also, has anyone bought one in canada? where?

Desperate but not serious
Never owned one.
They come up fairly often on the local craiglist (usually in canon or nikon mount). I get the impression people pick them up to play with and are not that happy with them in the long run.

I like my 8mm on my 40D.
It's a bit specialist but there's nothing to touch it when the occasion arises.

Too much of a gimmick lens for me.
Try the Fuji X Forum, Joe, I know people were talking about it over there.

Joe:
I have one of these for micro 4/3. I used it quite a bit last year. I really like it in a large room (NY Public Library reading room, e.g.) to convey a sense of space. Or to capture a picture of my wife and kids playing a dancing video game (priceless, and funnier from the POV of the TV). The perspective distortion can be corrected somewhat in PS, if you are willing to sacrifice the corners of the image and crop. In practice, DOF is so wide that I mostly am using the lens at its hyperfocal distance. In addition, these lenses are pretty inexpensive as lenses go. I am thinking of getting another in Nikon mount so that I can use it on the Nikons and on the Fuji XP1. In fact, that might have been the better move initially, given that I have a specialty M-4/3 lens and in fact I think the lens would have been useful across a variety of camera types. In the last year, I used the M-mount 15mm Heliar more often and across more formats than the 8mm lens. No insight on red-edge or falloff issues. It has not been a problem on the Olympus EP-2, but I understand that is not the platform you are using.
