Stolen Photography

Just a little update for those curious. The eBay VeRO program has removed the five listings utilizing the stolen photo and notified both the user and I. I simply had to fill out a report (took maybe 3 minutes) and VeRO responded a few hours after sending it out. However, they emailed me a little over an hour ago and already a new listing using all of the same photographs has been listed 😛 Emailed them again asking if they could remove it one more time as well as the consequences of subsequent offenses. If it just keeps happening, I'm not too worried honestly since there's not really any way to stop it completely.

That's what I was thinking, but they would create another account to resume selling their product maybe? Not too sure if a permanent IP ban would be a solution to that problem, but if the offender keeps utilizing the same photographs somehow, there's going to be a point where it's not worth the trouble. The length of the chase would be much longer I assume for those who have had a much more valued photograph stolen from them!

Very happy to see that the process is streamlined and quickly responded to by eBay.

Someone once notified me that a guy on ebay was selling 8x10's of some of my old NASCAR stuff. I sent him a message and he did take them down but claimed that he purchased them from another guy. right!

One of the members here uses a piece of artwork created by a good friend of mine.. They shall remain nameless.

It wouldn't be quite so irritating if he/she/it had not claimed copyright. Without that, well, sh*t happens. WITH that, the poster IS the sh*t that happens.

ADDENDUM: What always surprises me is how many people steal images for their avatars (no-one here yet, I imagine, but quite a few do).

Maybe you should tell eBay, you will sue them, if they dont take proper action against this seller. Maybe that will wake them up.

I generaly dont mind that stuff, but there is a principle and you should stick with it.
