Great story. Could this quirky act be explained by the time period? Was anyone doing drugs then in the glamor industries of modeling, photography, arts, etc.?

As for his contention that everything had been done by 1972, well, yes, he may have a point. Brings to mind that old saw about there being nothing new under the sun. But since I was born in 1972, and obviously all of my photography has been done since, I'll have to choose to ignore this bit of conventional wisdom, and keep hoping I can make some at least decent pictures, if not entirely new and ground breaking ones.
