Just received an FP4 film back from my lab. Some very strange marks running down the left side of some of the frames - this is the worst. Some show narrower bands of what looks like under development. On this frame, it looks as if something has stuck to the film during processing, with the jagged shape near the top. Never seen anything like this before - certainly not like light leaks from what I have ever seen before. Shot on Hasselblad 500CM, FP4.

Does anyone have any ideas??

Thanks.

Ray

Looks like they didnt put enough developer in the tank. This only happens on a few frames?

Do your negs have any milky looking strips on them?

It is possible that they could have loaded the film wrong processed it, seen their mistake and refixed to get rid of any obvious mistakes in the film.

I've done that before. Refixing clears the film but the development isnt even.

No milky appearance. What I can't understand is the jagged shape. All very odd.

still not sure, this is on a few frames or every frame on the roll consistently? It almost looks at bit like a overlapped exposure, or something just barely blocking that side of the frame. It's been years since I shot with a hassey. Remind me, the film travel would be going from top to bottom, right, like in my Mamiya 645? I ask because, when I blew up the image on the screen, it almost looked like there was something else in the portion of the lighter area in the sky, almost like it was a film advance registration problem. But I'm confused.

Could it be a dragging shutter curtain? Or are you using a leaf shutter lens?
