It just occurred to me to wonder why my Nikon S2, the camera I use in my listing icon, has a titanium shutter. I thought that only appeared when the Nikon F SLR was introduced in 1959, after the s2 was discontinued.
Were some S2's made with early samples of the titanium shutter? Or does this mean that my camera was just overhauled at some point, and the titanium shutter substituted for the original cloth one?
Cheers,
Dez

... likes film again.
... my black-dial S2 also has a titanium shutter
No hassle with burned cloth-shutters.

Is it possible to use the curtain from the F in an S2?

Is it possible to use the curtain from the F in an S2?
... it is. I have an SP and a S2 modified with F titanium curtains (F cloth shutter curtains would be rare, my guess). Not for the collectors / purists but I use the cameras to take photos ...
