Strap Lugs

The inside part of a strap lug is a thin tube that gets "smooshed" to create thin metal "fingers" that are spread around the hole (interior side). This means you may be able to remove a lug but are unlikely to ba able to replace it in another camera, as the fingers will crack off.
There is an alternative but that would be tooting my trumpet (http://ufies.org/~djb/); this works for clamshell-style rangefinders.
