I have decided to put together a series of shots I took a while back in Shanghai.

I mainly walked through the old quarters of Shanghai instead of going to soulless Pudong with its glass towers.

Here is what I came back with.

Old vs. New

Busy back street

Street Barber

Rice

Chit Chat

Pudong from the Bund

In the French Quarter

Temple

Dumpling Brigade

The Noodle Maker

Really nice shots! Thanks for posting. I like them all, but especially "temple," "dumpling brigade" and "noodle maker." I also like them from a technical standpoint, i.e., exposure, sharpness, tonality.

Thanks for the comments.

Camera was Leica M6TTL with Zeiss C-Sonnar 50/1.5 and Summicron 35/2 ASPH. As for film it was Kodak Tmax 400 and Kodak BW400 CN.

Fantastic ...Love the Old World meets New
will peek at your flickr to see which lenses.
Cheers- H

China has to be one of the best places in the world for street photography. And old neighbourhoods always are more interesting, in any country.
Maybe it's because so many of them are being destroyed so quickly, but that just adds a poignancy to China's old streets.

pudong is not soulless (i live there), but i agree, it looks much less interesting than puxi.

good photography! thanks for showing.
