I've been using a 28mm with my M6 for street shooting lately. Sometimes in combination with a Nikon FE 50mm. These were part of a test roll with a new film and development process - the cheap Fujicolor 100 and development at Walgreens.

These are lovely and sharp, I cannot get anywhere near this.

Nice work. The first shot really jumps out at me for some reason. I must have seen too many places in CA that remind me of the photo.
I've been shooting 28mm occasionally with an Olympus XA4. I'm still struggling with the focal length. I just don't get close enough most of the time.
It works well for me at times:

Then again, its a f/3.5 at its widest and thats a bit closed down for our winters:

...and the focal lengths distortion still throws me off:

I really respect people who are able to shoot 28mm consistently and get good shots out of it. I'm still working on it obviously.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I think candids are really hard with a 28mm, but definitely can be done. I shoot mostly landscape (urban and natural) and portraits, so I usually have more time to compose. I think it comes down to training your eye to compose before you pull the camera up. Important at any focal length but it seems especially so with wide-angle.
There was a guy working on a part of the building in the first shot who was whistling at me telling me not to take it. I took it and started walking away and he chased me down and told me in broken english to delete the photograph. I explained that it was film and that I couldn't, which really pissed him off. Needless to say, I'm glad I took it and I'm glad I was shooting film!
I really like that first shot Brian. Nice portrait of American industrialism.
More to come when I get around to spot cleaning them. Walgreens did an OK job, but the negs were filthy.

28mm is hard. To me, you need more things going on in a 28mm photo to really take advantage of it, or else the frame looks a little too empty. Of course you can take advantage of this emptiness also.

I shoot with a 28mm Ultron on my M6 sometimes. I like it, but I have a hard time with street because you really have to get close to your subject to make it work well IMO.

Love those b&w's Nightfly.
Here's a few more, this films weakness seems to be a creamy yellow/orange. The greens are also quite touchy in PP.

I'm pretty sure these were all shot at 28mm on a Canon G11. Does that count?
And I know these were at 28 because I shot them with a GRDIII (the only camera I really regret selling...
)
I guess these are "street" photos. I don't really know how to shoot "street" all that well. I try and learn from you guys though.

Ditto. I just have never been able to do anything good with a 28mm, or a 40mm for that matter. For that range of focal lengths, my world-view weems to be more consistent with a 24/25mm-35mm-50mm. Oh well...

96-99% of my work is shot with a 28mm. I love this focal length.
