Leica LTM Strong UV filter for Elmar ?

I have found a UV filter for my Elmar, and the seller said it is a strong UV filter that is darker. Should I avoid this? I am just looking to protect my lens. Thanks

There are Skylight filters and UV(A) and UV(B) filters. For protection, just look for the Skylight, which is clear and colorless, or UV(A) which is very pale pink.

"Darker" or "strong" just aren't words used to describe any UV filters normally.

Thanks for the replies. The filter is the small size 18.5mm. I may keep looking "Strong darker UV filter" doesnt sound good.

The old U.V. filters are pale yellow. However, the later chrome UVa is colorless and will not interfere with either B&W contrast or color rendition.
