Hi All,

I recently purchased a 65mm black lens for my c330. I tried a 49mm filter, but it was slightly too small. After some searching, it seems that I need to first remove the chrome filter ring from the lens, but it is stuck. I tried applying some pressure with a rubber pot holder, but I only succeeded in unscrewing the front element.

Any advice on how to get the filter ring off would be greatly appreciated. I'm mostly interested in attaching the metal lens hood, which doesn't have enough clearance with the rings on there.

Thanks,

Mike

Thanks for the advice. I tried again with a rubber band, but still no luck. There's such little clearance between the two lenses I wonder if one of those filter wrenches would even fit on.

You could try pushing and at the same time turning against a rubber mat like i did with this focasport lens :

This is long overdue for an update, but I did finally manage to solve this. It turns out some of the threads were overlapped, so I ran the edge of a butter knife around the filter ring. The thread de-overlapped and the ring popped right off! Huzzah, I can finally use a lens hood.

Thanks all, for the suggestions.
