I have always been a fan of the 50mm field of view for loose head and torso shots, but recently I have been making concerted effort to get the top of the head and feet plus margin on my subjects, opting for 35mm or portrait 50mm. Having read that article, I have more insight as to what I was trying to accomplish, and how to put it in words and actions.
