Thanks Freakscene. That platinum effect is one I love too. But it is difficult to replicate with digital too. Occasionally when I manage to "ace" it I am very happy. I have one or two others which are similar where the effect becomes more pronounced at distance and I love it when I pull it off. It is not always possible to do so incidentally as the fundamental contrast ranges have to be present in the shot to begin with - they can be enhanced but are damned near impossible to simulate from scratch. I will see if I can find another in my portfolio - the ones I am thinking of a mountain scenes (one viewed from the ocean) so they lack the detail inherent in this one.Beautiful. The tone and texture in the foliage of the third tree and beyond looks just like pre-world war one platinum prints. A lot of them were made on commercial platinum papers which are hard to replicate with modern hand-coated light sensitive coatings. Just gorgeous.

OMG, that's my Jeep and my Mazda. Okay, to be exact, I have those exact same vehicles. But I don't recognize that Michaels.

OTL, you have an affinity for "place". The mall above especially works well for me.

The best camera is one that still works!
Agree with Dogman ... that's a terrific photo.

The scary thing is that this could be anywhere in the world, and more and more of the world looks like this. Strong photo!

I’m genuinely surprised there was this much space in there. When I went it was totally packed, and, in one of my strongest memories from there, I was surprised to find that the signs to the toilets were in English ‘this way please’ it said. Odd. It is a great photo.

Thanks for having a look, gents. Freakscene, I'm sure we are the only RFF members who have set foot in Giga Mall.

As for me, where else could I buy shoes in HCMC when I had a sole blow out and I have US size 11.5-12.5 feet?
Oh, the other thing I recall is that they played the Elliott Smith song ‘Son of Sam’ while I was in there, which I really did _not_ expect there.
