Suggestions on Adding Features to RFF?

What ideas do you have about adding new features to RFF ?

I'm wondering what features members would like to see to make RFF a better and more useful site.

Try to keep it practical.

There are some extremely useful postings here which tend to get lost over time amongst the general chat. Some form of libary of best posts would be great.

If it would at all be possible to add pictures (or even just a single picture) to 'Want to Buy' or 'Want to Trade' advertisements, that would be great.

It would be really useful to show the stuff that's up for trade, or wanted.

Now there's nothing to show and that makes browsing less effective...


There's a 'Looking for...' field that cannot contain any data. In case of a trade it would be very nice to have a 'Looking for...' field that you can actually use, and a 'Have for trade...' field that can contain text and a single shot, perhaps? And show thumbnails in the listing?

RFF has never performed in the 'shared pictures' category. If and when the parameters would be improved, RFF would be boosted enormously.

When I click on a gallery picture on the home page, It takes me to the gallery, which is fine. But when I want to go back to the Home page and click on "home" to do so, it opens a new tab. Kind of irritating, but not earth-shatterinmg.

I suggest setting up the classifieds so that ads don't show up at all until paid for (no display of time-wasting "teasers" linking to "This ad has not yet been paid for").

It would be really great to show the group, meetup photos and gear piles.

I would love to see a change in the inactivity timer. Right now if I walk away from the computer for a few minutes the board clears my timer which screws up new post searches.

I have thought along these lines to. For instance, you could have a 'TriX' collection so someone interested in TriX could quickly investigate thread titles. This would be different from the TriX search in that it would not have threads where TriX is casually mentioned. The drawback would be you would have to have more moderators.

It would be enormously helpful to see where each ad originates from, just like the user name is flagged, if the add could have a little country of origin flag by the title would help those of us who are not interested in paying the big shipping costs associated with overseas purchases. The latest updates to the gallery were the only other issues I had. Love this site!! S

If vbulletin supports tagging, then any thread referencing TriX (for example) could be tagged, and clicking on that tag would bring up other threads that also reference TriX. Since there are umpteen potential tags on RFF, this would require tags to be created by the users (some forums only allow admins to create them.) That means moderator time to clean them up every once in a while...

Also, a member map would be cool. Members post a pin with their location on a world map.
