Suggestions on Adding Features to RFF?

More inbox space. I love RFF but the limit of 100 messages is... strange. 🙂 I suggest adding another zero to that number. It's just text - the amount of extra server space needed is truly negligible.

An easier way to post feedback that is tied into the member... not the general thread. If the member's ad is gone its tough to leave feedback also the buyer should be able to get critiqued easily.

Also more space in the PM bucket as mentioned.

It would be enormously helpful to see where each ad originates from, just like the user name is flagged, if the add could have a little country of origin flag by the title would help those of us who are not interested in paying the big shipping costs associated with overseas purchases. The latest updates to the gallery were the only other issues I had. Love this site!! S

+1 for me on this subject! and my usual request that 'SOLD' items be removed quickly (automatically?) so we can search for 'AVAILABLE' stuff more easily.

Get rid of the features in the gallery or broading the amount of photos we view. Seeing the same 5 or so photo's being featured all the time gets old. Sorry Keith😀

When I click on a gallery picture on the home page, It takes me to the gallery, which is fine. But when I want to go back to the Home page and click on "home" to do so, it opens a new tab. Kind of irritating, but not earth-shatterinmg.

I thought the same but I will say the new gallery is much better to manuever around than the old one. George & Stephen have done a great job in this dept. Like you say a bit irritating but not earthshattering. It's something I can live with.

Eliminate needless censorship at rff. We are all grown ups. Some of the posts I have seen removed really did not need to be. It leaves a bad taste. I've been a mod on another board an know it's a tough call at times. Bad citizens expose themselves through poor manners. Deleting their posts only helps cover their bad behavior. Deleting posts that only offend others sensibilities is in itself uncalled for. Imo if it's not foul language, name calling, or behavior that calls for banishment... it should not be deleted.

A huge +1 on adjusting the cookie timer to a couple of weeks. The "go to last unread" arrow is all but useless now and I have to check the time of the last post to see if something's new.

Another feature I like is a drop-down subforum quick jump menu at the end of each page so I can jump from one forum to another when I'm done reading a thread. Easy to do and standard in vB 3.6.8

we have forums for these subjects, but the thread model is probably less than ideal.
perhaps more of a wikipedia model for tutorials/learning
etc..

Ah'd like to see a couple of links after logging on, as below...

This is from another photography site.

View posts since last visit - goes back around 10 pages.

View your posts - shows all my posts (this could be limited to, say, 3 months, then archived )

View unanswered posts - these are all posts in forums without a reply. This could possibly be filtered by the member choosing forums in his/her controls+settings.

Ah find the present system very confusing when looking for posts contributed tae or ones ah'm following. Think the site is quite unintuitive.

On the homepage, when ah minimise say," latest posts" or "news" etc. - ah'd like tae be able to save those settings so they become my default.

Other skins? The light ones are blindingly bright and the dark ones too dark and become very irritating every time ah hover a link as whole lines of text are illuminated.

Being a fairly new member, perhaps some of this stuff is already available and ah haven't found it .

PS. Often, when logged in, after writing a reply to a thread, then clicking on "Preview post" or "Submit reply", ah get a "You are not logged in" message. Is this a bug, or is there an elapsed time when posting?

PPS An automatic resizer for the giant images that many folk post in threads. We don't all have 26"+ monitors. It's incredibly annoying, when enjoying a thread, to click on the next page - only to see part of a giant lighthouse, just the ocean or two legs of an insect. Ah know there are stickies on some forums but not all. Mebbe a sticky at the start of every thread? Ta...
