Summar 5cm filter Size?!

Hi, just arrived today a summar lens that i could win for an excellent price, it has fungus and scratch free glasses...but some of the internal black paint got loose and i´ll clean it right now.

I´d like to know the screw-in filter for this lens.

I´ve seen it is 34mm but maybe it´s not.

So please let me know what should work for it.

It's 34mm. There's an eBay seller that has a very nice one. Simple and cheap. Here's a link to it. I've used them and they're perfect. The hard part is finding a 34mm yellow filter, but they can be found if you're patient. Easier to just use a step ring and a different size filter though.

I use a SOOGZ on my Summar. It allows you to use 39mm filters.

This lens is superb, from 1937 and just sat on a shelf for decades because of the paint loss...just fixed it XD

You can use a 34mm screw-in filter for your Summar, or more commonly a 36mm "A36" push-on filter. The screw-in filters are more difficult to find.

I use a SOOGZ on my Summar. It allows you to use 39mm filters.

I use one on my 13.5cm Hektor and my Fed "Elmar". Makes life much simpler.

Just get yourself this $15.88 adapter that screws into your Summitar filter thread and allows you to use the much more common E39 filters. It even comes with a pinch lens cap.

I couldn´t find an step up ring 34-39...and the SOOGZ shines, but the askig price is way too high...
A36 filter are old and the uv ones are also expensive...more than b+w brand which i consider erxcellent

Found some 34mm b+w uv filter i think i´ll go for it.

Hi Monochrom, I have a 34mm B+W filter on my Summar. It's just the thing. It will also fit the "thin" Elmar 90mm f4 should you want.
