This is a lens that you assume has been through a couple wars (literally) in its 80 years of existence, and send straight away to one of the top remaining experts have overhauled... Want your pics to be distinct and have "character"? This is the lens. There will never be another like it. No coatings, no correction, and glass that's as soft as pudding producing a pleasing variation of the "Holga Effect". Sold mine to fund other gear purchases - and don't regret it really, understanding you "can't have everything..." and I didn't get on with the old Barnacks (in my case an FSU camera - that I didn't care for very much...). But given the relatively few photos I had taken with it, there were a disproportionate amount of "favorites".

Mine's pretty much flawless and still has that distinctive look.

Summar held up quite nicely against 5:30pm PDT sunlight. No hood, with cheapo protective filter)

It needs a good internal cleaning. Once done, it will be low contrast with more pastel color than coated lenses and still flare if sun hits the front.

Thanks Haempe, ...just what I was going for with these results..
They look a little like 1950s Agfa color film I'm told. I think they look more like 16mm Kodachrome Cine stills, or the computer-colorized B/W film you see in documentaries these days.
I will scan them with a better scanner when I find the time. The only thing that little Ritzz.scan negative scanner is good for is getting rapid results.
