Summar Serial Numbers

HI! I recently acquired a Summar with the serial number 311xxx. I was told that the first two numbers don't necessarily mean the year of manufacture. Is there a way I can know when these were produced? Thanks!

nice site; typed in my serial # off of my summar 5cm and it told me it's 1937, same as camera.
