Summar Test Shot

There is a strong feeling in those shots ericzhu
thanks for posting
i'm after a summar myself......

Those shots are a great argument in favor of a Summar, thanks for sharing. Finding a good condition Summar isn't always easy, but the hunt is half the fun... right? 😀

Very nice, indeed. Lovely qualities in your images - and it seems to me that your technique complements the Summar perfectly.

My summar is not mint. A half centimeter cleaning mark on the front glass. And the barrel slips off when it is upside down...

Though repairman advises me that I shall buy a lens with coating, I really enjoy the results of this lens.

Excellent start Eric ... coating or no coating 🙂 BTW, I just bought a new Noctilux as a graduation gift 🙂 Now I'm off hunting down 35'lux pre.

Congratulations on your new noct. Before you are hunting another M lens, I would suggest trying a leica II or III body. The shutter sound is really like a bird singing. The later leicas such as iiif, M3, MP don't have the wonderful sound. And the most important, leica III is smaller than MP. That's why I now take III more often. Here I borrow a picture of III from ebay:

I agree about looking for a III. They are relatively cheep, and are a dream to carry around.
