Summarit 50 2.5 Lens Hood Help

I have the lens and I have the lens hood but cannot work out how to fit the two together. The hood has an internal thread but there is nothing on the lens to attach it to. What am I missing?

Thanks very much. Thought that might be the case but didn't want to risk damaging the lens. Couldn't find any reference on the net.

Unthread the front protective ring is common use of Summarit-M lenses,
just like this 2.4/35mm , we can see the external male thread to screw in the hood ...
