Summaron with a goggle

This summaron 35mm f2.8 with a goggle is significantly cheaper than a standard M mount model.

Can I use it directly on my M240 and M6? Do I need to unscrew (remove) the goggle? 😱

Yes. Use as is.

Big and bulky setup. I'd recommend saving another $400 and getting the version without goggles.

Do not unscrew anything, it will bring up the 50mm frame lines and the goggles 'convert' the view to 35mm. It does this because it was originally designed to be used with the M3 which has 50mm frames as its widest.

Goggled versions work well on all M cameras, including digital. I use it on an M5 and M10.
The goggled version is especially nice for eyeglass wearers like me - no scanning around the viewfinder lines to see everything in the frame. Its all right there in 50mm frame lines. IMO, trade-offs are small compared to the framing advantage.

I use Summaron 35mm for decades, lovely little guy that I had in M3 (goggled sold) and M2 style (still have this one).
Also 35mm Summicron I/II/IV that in general less IQ than Summaron f/2.8 in analog F Stop.

But lately, as told in other thread, I like Summarit-M 2.5/35mm better allround modern/lovely results lens.
