summicron 40-c, I finally get it.

Considering that the 40 'cron does most of the work of $800 50 'crons and $1000 35 'crons . . . . I wouldn't even think about selling it. It's great on the CLE and not hard at all to get used to on an M4-P.

Joe: I have to agree with you here. I once in a while have "weak times" during which I want to sell lenses. Now I am strong" again!

the 40 nokton is a good lens and faster to boot!

i like the 40mm focal length but prefer it with a camera that has 40 fl.
otherwise i go crazy deciding whether to use 35 or 50 fl.

When I first bought the 40 I almost filed it down to show the 35 frame lines. I'm glad I didn't because I think it's better to think you're a little squeazed and know you have everything in the frame than the other way around.

i've read the nokton 40 is closer to 43mm.

The Nokton is a nearly exact match for the 35 framelines of the later M camera when focused at 10 ft. and beyond. It doesn't noticeably crop unless your within 5 ft, and even then it's closer to the 35 frames than the 50.

No Raid, be weak again and ask me to trade you the 40 Nokton for the 40 cron

I really am not sure at this stage. I need a faster lens but almost everyone commenting on the Summicron/Rokkor praises these lenses. Cost is not the factor for me here. I wonder whether your CV is a better lens for me or not.
