Hi everyone,

Just back from a trip and I found out a problem in the lens' rear element, I can only see it when pointing to the light.
does it look like a scratch of the coating? I got 3 circles like that one in the photo on the rear element of my summicron 50.
They have similar shape. It doesnt likely for me to making a scratch on the rear element as I seldom clean the rear glass. How do I find out it's a coating scratch or something else? should i go to the repair centre for a check? My lens is still under warranty.
If it's a coating scratch, could it be fixed? Thanks.

I would clean it properly and see if they go away. I had some long scratches on a 50 28 that went half across the rear glass. One careful cleaning and they were gone.

Use a small CLEAN brush on lenses and limit scrubbing with any cloth. There is always risk. Use lens caps.

The circles are a manufacturing defect or can be cleaned off. Passport warrantee rules.

Thanks! I used a Lenspen to clean the rear glass and they were gone.

I had to scrub it 4-5 times to clean them off.
I tried cleaning them before, but they were still there. Maybe I didnt scrub hard enough before.
But now it's all fine now.
