I know it has been said before, but there are so many amazing photos on this thread! Thanks to everybody for taking the time and effort to post their shots.
Extraordinary photography going on here. Nice work everyone.
These photos make my humble Summarit 35/2.5 have sad puppy eyes!

So I finally located a very good condition 35 pre (v2 with infinity lock?!?!). I've never posted much on forums but I am so amazed by this lens I just had to share a couple recent shots. This and my Noctilux V1 are my favourite lenses ever. I might need to get a 50 pre to complete the set, character wise
I hope you like...

I use Silver Efex Pro 2, and have a few profiles with split tones I put together that I use. (also a very small amount of 'grain'.. i hate 'clean' images.. reality is just inherently 'noisy'). The 100% crop also suffers from some jpg compression artifacts.. the 100% crop i'm looking at in photoshop here doesn't have them.

Beautiful Jim!
I foresee this lens becoming my most used lens during holidays after I pick it up a the destination.
This is exactly the look, that I love - let the ASPH bunch poke jokes about "dreamy" and "character" as they might - this is just beautiful.
The 35 Lux ASPH is one of my most used lenses, but I dislike it's clean look in many situations, where this pre ASPH will shine.
I think, I put a lot of pressure on the tiny little guy, before even mounting it once ;-)

I feel the same way and see this lens in my future too

thanks all for the feedback
have to agree on the rendition of this lens... I shoot a lot of large format as well.. and most of my glass there is old, pre 1900 .. having much more character than the newer.
(sample from an old wollensak velostigmat series ii is at

Istvan, I like the last shot! The rendering of the background is just insane, and man, do I love these tones!

Jim, this shot is somewhat spooky, but it shows everything, I love about the Noctilux f1 - i am now 100% certain, the 35 Lux pre ASPH will be a much better fit on the second body to the Noctilux!
