I think I am slowly beginning to get this lens. Here is my cat, a master of the house. He has three perches for looking out windows, two chairs in our bedroom for his use, and my daughter's bed right up against the heater on cold days, and several other luxuries. This was wide open at f1.4 ISO 3200.

I tried the 35mm Summilux pre-A steel rim and v2 some 20 years ago but didn’t like them because I didn’t get it. Now it’s my favorite 35mm.

This is f2.8 on M9-P. Just a little magic here I reckon. The Summicron at f2 would be a bit bitier I reckon.

A new to me lens... and I'm absolutely loving it so far!

Summilux 35mm f/1.4 pre-ASPH V2 (Canadian) on an M4-P. First roll through it yesterday. Rollei Retro 400S, HC-110 Dil B.

I've been shooting the streets of Taipei for a while now but this lens just does something different. This was shot stopped down a bit on an overcast day and I'm blown away by how much dimension it pulls out of a scene.

Coming from modern glass this is a completely different experience.
