summilux 35mm pre-asph.

I took another look at mine and yes, it does appear to unscrew as you asked.. I moved it a good half inch but felt a little tight so I didn't push it any further for fear of doing something I might regret.

Hmm, strange that you can not screw out the lenshead completely. I have both an M2 version and a goggled version (M3) and I can use the lenshead from the M2-version into the M3-version and vice versa without any problems!

Before we start putting too many photos in this thread, keep in mind we already have a sticky at the top of this sub forum for summilux 35mm pre-asph shots. Please post them there!

I'll take another look at it on the weekend...my curiosity has got the better of me.

Thanks for put in the time to do a comparison!

Is jsut me or? I feel like the photo from v2 is sharper and has stronger contrast compare to v1. I am not saying which is better, but I've always heard the v1 is sharper than v2...

Here they are:

Leica M2, Summilux 35mm f/1.4 v1, 400-2TMY:

Yes, on the target it is sharper (may have to do with the camera used; all rangefinders differ a little bit) but my goal was to show that the lenses are totally different, not to show wich one is sharper on the target.
