Around the corner from where I live in Berlin is the Mauerpark. It is not really a pretty park but it is a park that gets used a lot by the people in the neighborhood. On sunny weekends you will find lots of people there having barbecues, people lazing in the sun and drinking beer, children playing and lots of bands giving spontaneous live concerts in the park or people singing karaoke. It is a lovely atmosphere with a very nice community feel to it.
Here are some impressions from last sunday, taken with Kodak Retina IIa on Ilford HP5+:

1) 'The Genetic Mistake' playing in the park:

2) Karaoke in the Mauerpark:

3) Karaoke again, this time from above:

4) Soap bubbles are fun:

5) Brass band playing complete with guy in a skeleton suit, dog and a small fan:

Thanks for the comments, guys!

The lens of the Retina is indeed very nice and sharp, if the autofocusing unit (me behind the viewfinder) is doing a good job.

Wow! These photographs are excellent! It is so helpful to see what the Retinas can! ;)

great pictures, makes me dream of better days long time ago. And the Retina is a burner, just had a look at flickr after I seen some pics in the Retina Thread in RFF.

Loved these pictures and Berlin too! They remind me of Gorlitzer Park in Kreuzberg. Where is the Mauerpark in Berlin?

Thanks. Görlitzer Park has a similar feel to it. Mauerpark is in Prenzlauer Berg, close to the subway station Eberswalder Strasse.

OK I roughly know where that is I think - to the north of Mitte. I really liked Gorlitzer - went back more than once. Berlin is a very cool city, you are lucky to live there. :)
