Besides I get a longer day with the hot rods tomorrow.
I may even be able to go downtown tomorrow and catch an opportunity with a Masai tribesman in full regalia! (wish me luck)

OK, I have to tell the truth...
She was all for me going to the show, but I thought it be better to get her car done today. It's 98 Chrysler Concorde and all the weather gaskets around the doors and headlamps were loose. I can't have her going to the real estate office looking all ghetto and everything. Right now it looks like Tammy Faye Baker with all the blue tape holding things in place while the adhesive cures. (I'll get a picture of it before I go to the hot rod show tomorrow)
Her sons and I have been joking about sending it off to "Pimp My Ride," which scares her. 😀
Cooking New York Strip is a lot easier than her awesome meatloaf, which requires a lot of prep work. I sometimes end up as Sous Chef when she makes that. All worth the trouble.
She also informs me that Steak has another meaning to the ladies on her cross stitch forum. I will leave it at that.

OK, Didn't go to the Hot Rod Show. My choice.
After finding out that it was 8 dollars just to park then another 15, I determined that I wanted to go somewhere else. Balboa Park. Lots of people shots, dog shots, a performer, and the car museum.
Also got to see the Museum of Photography there. It's a very small space, but there were two very nice exhibits-

I deposited 4 rolls of film at my favorite local lab (Chrome) for processing only. Two thirds of the frames were from today at the park. I used some cheapo 200 ASA color print film from Longs, 2 rolls of Fuji NPS 160 (one of which I am asking Chrome to push process) and one roll of Ilford XP2 Super.
I took the Bessa R equipped with the J8 and my Yashica GSN (testing it). I am pretty excited and hope to have some shots to share by week's end.
All in all- a very nice day.

Those photographs by Burtynksy are incredible. What a sobering view.
I'm assuming he used some sort of large format camera. Do you know anything about that?

No, I looked for technical information at the show. I am assuming his work is at least on an 8x10 negative. Some of the prints were about 5 feet wide and no grain to be detected.
One of his shots was a uranium tailing dump in Colorado. At first I thought very stark and beautiful with baren trees, then I read the caption again... URANIUM TAILINGS! I thought "Holy Crap, its a toxic region he is standing smack in the middle of to get the shot."
