Hi, after a while i got some pics with my new old super ikonta.
Nice camera, very small despite being medium format!
I like the colour rendering.
Many shaky pics, i´ll have to learn many things about getting nice shots with this format.
I´m very happy because the lens isn´t flary.
A few examples!!!
Metered with a gossen selenium sixtomat.
Hope you enjoy!
Bye!!!

Nice couple of shots there, I have a 532/16 but haven't used it much. Were these taken wide open?

Hi, thanks Sam!
They were about 5.6...
...but this pair were shot wide open, i like colour rendering of this lens more than B/W!
I think wide open this lens is superb, it´s from 1951!!!!
Hope to see your shots!

Hi Chippy, i don´t know many medium format RF, let´s say it´s weight and size don´t make me unconfortable
I wouldn´t tell it´s such a tank that can stand such heavy duty
Thanks for your shots, that lens hood looks neat, the SI is a real beaut!
Now i´ll develop some shot taken at chichén itzá, let´s see what comes up!
I´ll post´em soon.

I own one pretty much like yours. All-chromed units are the second version (call it MkII). It is not my favorite, though...

Stunning shots, Elmer! My Zeiss doesn't render anywhere nearly as good. It's got an uncoated Tessar and the shots are very soft and seem foggy (haze?)
What film is that? Portra? Amazing colours and you're right- despite what many say the Tessar renders colour VERY nicely!
Thanks for those shots, you encouraged me to actually have the lens professionally cleaned.

I've been aching for one of these cameras . . I keep hunting but it's tough to locate other than on ebay from Jurgen (or others).
Cheers,
Dave

Dave, by the time I got mine back from Jurgen, what I've got invested in it is about what I'd have invested if I'd just bought it from Jurgen initially. Just FYI, you know?

I totally get that - I've got Jurgen as one of my "favourite" sellers on my Ebay profile (I rarely sell there and only buy there due to the crappy policies for sellers now).
I've been eyeing his stuff lately so maybe there's one in my future

Hi All, I'm reviving this old thread to relate a wonderful experience I had last week with my Super Ikonta B.
I inherited the camera about 10 years ago from my father-in-law. It had belonged to his father who bought it new in the 1930s. I have been putting a few rolls through it every year since, mainly of my kids at play, or in general friends and family doing ordinary everyday things. I am always happy with the results, and enjoy the shooting experience. The camera is A Classic Among Classics!
Last week my wife and kids and I were visiting my mother-in-law (father-in-law is no longer alive), and my wife took out one of her grandfather's old photo albums covering the late 1930s and early 1940s. In it we found small, lovely, square contact prints from the very same camera that I still use today. The print quality looks like they were made yesterday, and the subjects are kids at play, or in general friends and family doing ordinary everyday things!
I'm grateful to have been given the camera, and cherish it even more now. I wonder if any of my children or grandchildren will show an interest in using it. (I'm doubtful, just based on statistics...)
